VAT refunds - cheaper prices ! |

>> The prices of certain
products available in Thailand are already
very attractive, but if on top of that, the
customer can get a refund on the 7% sales
tax, shopping becomes even more of a pleasure.
If you comply with the few simple rules, getting
your refund is easy, quick and can be done
at the Tourist Office Revenue Department in
Bangkok or at the airport before leaving the
country.
Almost anyone can take advantage of this service,
you just need to follow a few conditions.
Visitors must not have stayed in Thailand
for more than 180 days in a calendar year,
cannot be an employee of an airline and must
depart the country from the international
airport. Purchases must be made in shops displaying
the 'VAT refund for Tourists' sign.
Reimbursements to tourists must be within
60 days of the date of purchase, on individual
goods costing over 2,000 Baht and the total
cost of goods must exceed 5,000 Baht. It's
important to note that the procedure starts
from the moment of purchase, when the customer
must show his/her passport and complete an
application form (P.P.10) to which the original
tax invoice must be attached.
Claiming for your refund is relatively easy.
Go to the VAT Refund office at the airport
or the Tourist Office Revenue Department in
Bangkok, show your passport, the application
form and the goods invoice. Make sure that
nothing is missing or your refund will be
