| We didn't want to focus
on just the beautiful side to Bangkok and
Thailand, quite the opposite in fact but we
have tried to keep a respectful distance where
delicate subjects are concerned, particularly
with regard to our photographic content. |

| The Thais, with their legendary
smile, love to play up to the lens. If you
ask their permission before taking photos,
they will happily do you the courtesy of posing
for you. |

>> Of course we want
you to know everything about Thailand and
via this site pass on to you in detail, the
way of life, traditions, customs, beliefs,
superstitions, the culture, good points and
bad... but not at any price.
We will not, under any circumstances, invade
the natives' privacy, or lose their respect,
just to quench our thirst for knowledge or
take intruding photos in or der to show you
certain aspects of life. It would be unpleasant
for you but more so for people in those situations
- such as the handicapped begging in the streets,
the prostitutes in the gogo bars of Bangkok
or the misery of the Northern people, suffering
in their villages (visits to which line the
pockets of tour operators and unscrupulous
Thai guides - money has no object!).
In order to appreciate this society (sometimes
complex), we will do out utmost to ensure
that our western persona remains as discreet
as possible, to humbly blend in with the masses
and respect the customs and traditions of
this Kingdom. We will yield to practices,
which have long been established, even if
they seem outdated or absurd to us. Tolerance
of difference is our priority. (/LA) |
