Bangkok
before and after the crash
A country full of life, Thailand is continuously
evolving. To get even more ahead, the Kingdom
is improving its organisation, its infrastructure
and consequently is changing its image, habits
and mentality. The crash of '97 upset this
transformation a little, but nonetheless the
work continues. Sapaluck Taechapongstorn,
a French professor from Thammasat University
in Bangkok, tells us about some of the changes
he's seen in his city.

The
Thai smile
Vi Billy, a real Thai woman (her smile
proves it), speaks to us about her country.
After numerous expatriations around the world,
the three children's mother (soon four) is
back in her native land where her husband
was assigned for a new mission. Her remarks
are a rich lesson and have humour.

An
interesting experience
Yves Makowski , a 30-year old father has been
living in Bangkok for just over a year. He
took paternal leave to take care of his 19
month old daughter, Elise, in order to follow
his wife, Veronique, who is working in Bangkok.
They all seem to have acclimatised well to
the Asian lifestyle.
